When my boy-girl twins started preschool, our mornings became more um... complicated... Getting everyone ready and out the door at a specific time was exasperating and we all started the day off on a sour note.
In a fit of frustration (moment of inspiration?) I created the Ready, Set, Go Board (tm) for my kids to use in the mornings. It was an instant success all around. No more nagging, "Have you found your coat?" or forcefully whispering, "Please..Put..Your..Socks..On..NOW."
I realized that the kids now had just enough structure to take care of their own readiness AND feel independent about managing their time. They adored switching the red dots and declaring, "I'm Ready Set Go!!" when all the dots were green.
I made an entertaining video describing the Ready Set Go Board and system.... Check it out on You Tube, copy/paste this URL

Four years later in our house, the Board is still its own reward (yes, really!), but I can see how it could be used to earn rewards for a sticker chart or filling a jar of marbles toward a "special prize."
I've had lots of encouragement from other moms and friends to produce and sell the Ready, Set, Go Boards. So, here I go!
I'm seeking lots of product feedback and curious to see how people might use the boards in their homes. I hope to use Facebook and a future blog [?] to share and report tips and strategies for kid organization that engage kids and foster self-reliance.
